The hip hop group known as N.E.R.D. has recently broke the news of their new album to Clash Music. In the interview the band says their new album will be a mesh of their previous three and that the band is focusing on liquid funk to house music.
Shay Haley spoke about the act’s creative process saying: “Chad, Pharrell and myself - although we have a lot of similarities - we all like different things" he said. "Like Chad was big on the rave scene at one point. I mean if you check out his record collection, he’s got all types of music, like Harry Belafonte, shit that I would never listen to, but respect."
Haley also goes onto say that: "Pharrell is big on the whole ’70s jazz scene, soul scene, and I’m more into the indie bands of today, and you fuse all that together and you get a nice blend of a lot of different sounds. It’s cool.”
The group has yet to announce the official release of their still untitled album, but we’ll keep you updated when they do.
