After a long delay, icons of hip-hop, Beastie Boys claim that the album ‘Hot Sauce Committee’ will be released in September of this year.
The disk was originally scheduled for release last year and is rumored to feature a host of guest appearances and then came the shocking news that Adam Yauch (MCA) had been diagnosed with cancer. The new record was immediately postponed.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Yauch spoke about his recent battle with cancer saying: "I feel better," and that "It was touch and go there for a while, but I am finally getting my energy back."
“It was really disappointing to have to hold the record and postpone the tour, but doctor’s orders. We may or may not (release 'Hot Sauce Committee Part I') depending on how my health is come September. We want to but we have to play it by ear."
He goes on to say that because the album was finished a year ago the group has decided to revisit the material to see if any of the songs need additional work and that; "We finished the record over a year ago, so we want to take a look at it and re-evaluate and make sure it is what we want to put out there and that we are still happy with it. I don't think we will change it up too much."
At the moment ‘Hot Sauce Committee’ is scheduled for release in September of 2010.
